The Senco Horsepower small compressor is a small air compressor with a 1 Gallon tank that is designed for small DIY jobs and also for topping off car tires. If you are looking for a compact air compressor that is portable, then this may be the item that you are looking for. Before you buy, you should consider the pros and cons of this item:
- Light weight at 20lbs
- Quiet compared to other compressors
- 125 PSI maximum
- Very limited accessory kit
- 0.6 CFM @ 100 PSI
So How Good is The Senco Horsepower Small Compressor?
I should perhaps start with the fact that the Senco Horsepower small compressor actually performs well doing the jobs that it was designed to do, which is to run items such as brad guns and to install trim. However, for higher pressure and more specialised roles, such as topping off high pressure bicycle tires, or more heavy duty applications, this air compressor just wasn’t designed for the job.

Nozzles and Accessories
The air compressor comes with a ¼” universal coupler, which makes it usable with light duty DIY tools straight out of the box. However if you want to use this for anything else you will have to buy a separate accessory kit, and ensure that you include a trigger component so that you can regulate air flow into tires, exercise balls etc..

The maximum PSI rating on this little compressor is 125 PSI, but this is not a constant pressure and so it will not be suitable for use to top up high pressure tires, such as road bike tires. It can top off car and mountain bike tires, but do not attempt to fill up tires from flat as this pushes the compressor to its limits. The pressure gauge is only for checking the tank pressure and so there is no built-in pressure gauge for measuring the pressure in tires when filling them up.

I have found the Senco Horsepower small compressor to be great for using to run my brad gun and my other light duty DIY tools. After purchasing an inline tire pressure gauge, trigger and Schrader connector I have also used this to top off my car tires and my mountain bike tires. The compressor works fine for these applications, but it is not suitable for filling and topping off road bike tires or any high pressure shocks.

Ease of Use
As this pump is not designed for filling car tires or bike tires, it does not come with the accessories to carry out these tasks. Therefore out of the box it is very limited in the number of applications it can be used for. When using it for my brad gun, I found it to be very easy to use.

Value for Money
As a light duty DIY air compressor this is actually a good little pump and represents reasonably good value for money. However if you want a pump that can provide you with the capability of pumping up car tires from flat, or to maintain bike tires, then this is not the pump to buy and as such would represent poor value for money.

I have the Senco Horsepower small compressor for DIY tasks. It is useful for occasionally topping off car tires and mountain bike tires, but I use a specialist bicycle pump as my everyday pump as this little air compressor just isn’t designed for these types of tasks.
