Pressure Gauge
The pressure gauge is really designed for use when filling up tires to high pressures. I have found that when the pressure is at around the 110 PSI mark, or above, the pressure gauge is pretty accurate, but if I am using the pump for lower pressure jobs the gauge can be a long way off, even up to 20 PSI. I have occasionally used the pump to top off my car tires when my electric pump failed and while it connects and pumps fine, I wouldn’t want to use the gauge to measure the tire pressure.

Applications
The TCPG floor pump is pretty versatile. The universal nozzle makes it compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves, so I can pump up any of my bicycle tires without modifying or adjusting the pump at all. The pump is also supplied with a number of adapters for use with other inflatable items such as balls and high volume inflatables. The high pressure operation is ideal for use with the needle adapter to inflate any sports balls. While the general use nozzles are perfectly good for connecting to general inflatables, the high pressure, rather than high volume, operation does make inflating things like air beds a little slow in my experience.

Overall I have found this to be a very good pump. It fits on both Presta and Schrader valves and the additional attachments come is really useful for other general inflation tasks. Once you get used to the gauge it is possible to use it effectively for high pressure bicycle tires, but I would definitely have a pen gauge handy for lower pressures, such as those found in car tires.
