So How Good is The Bon Aire i8000 Goodyear Electric Tire Pump?
Compared to many other small tire pumps on the market, this pump is fast. I was able to inflate my wheelbarrow tire from being almost totally flat up to 30 PSI in about 45 seconds and my car spare tire from 10 to 28 PSI in under 2 minutes. The pump is also very quiet compared to the other pumps I have, which makes it great for using in the house. The pump claims to be able to provide up to 150 PSI, but I have only tested it up to 70 PSI on my bicycle tires, which it seemed to cope with ok.

The Bon Aire i8000 Goodyear electric tire pump comes with a 120V cable that plugs into the mains. This is great for all house-hold inflation requirements and in my experience the 6 foot power cord is more than long enough to get the inflator to where I need it as it also has 17 feet of air hose. If you want this for ’on the go’ tire inflation you will need a power inverter in order to use it with your car’s 12V DC power point.

Nozzles and Valves
This pump is slightly unusual in that it uses a screw-on valve rather than a clamp-on. While some people may find this too time consuming, it does provide a capability to inflate tires with short valve stems, such as the one on my wheelbarrow. The array of nozzles that the pump comes with should give you every type you need. I have inflated everything from paddling pools to basketballs and have had a nozzle to fit. The only thing I have had to source an extra nozzle for is my road bicycle, which I was expecting anyway.

I have found the pressure gauge on the Bon-Aire i8000 to be one of the most accurate in-built gauges I have found on a pump of this size and price. After a number of verifications using my manual pressure gauge I am comfortable now to solely use this pressure gauge for most inflations.

Ease of Use
If you are used to the ease of a clamp-on valve you may find the screw-on to be a bit slow and fiddly, but personally I prefer the screw-on as it allows less air to bleed out when it comes to disconnecting it. Other than that the operation couldn’t be simpler, plug it in, connect it up and switch it on.
